They remain on the brink of a Champions League exit despite a scrappy win over PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday and sit five points adrift of Manchester City at the top.
Boss Mauricio Pochettino has even admitted Spurs’ season is just like an episode on TV’s hit drama House of Cards.
They failed to sign a single player in the summer, face the embarrassment of the ongoing saga in moving to their new stadium and are having to fight off the advancements from Real Madrid for their manager.

Speaking to talkSPORT, the ex-England keeper said: “No, they’re not miles away at all.
“They’re getting closer every season, for me.
“A lot of people are going on about how they’re not playing very well, but this is their best start to a Premier League season and they’ve still got a chance in the Champions League, although a very small chance.
“They are always progressing and they keep their players and get their best players to sign new, long- term contracts.
