A TEAM of retired England legends have joined ITV’s new weight loss show in a bid to collectively lose 40 stone.
Paul Merson, Robbie Fowler and John Barnes are among the stars that will be ditching their unhealthy habits to get match-fit for a friendly against a team of international rivals.
Legendary Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman, 54, will be taking part alongside Ray Parlour, 45, and Matt Le Tissier, 49.
Neil “Razor” Ruddock, 50, Mark Wright, 55, Chris Waddle, 57, Rob Lee, 52, Mark Chamberlain, 56, Lee Sharpe, 47, and Steve Howey, 46, are also in the squad.
Former Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has been selected as the team’s manager.
The two-part mini series, which is called MatchFit, will be televised next year.
When the training camp is complete, the team will test themselves in a match against their international rivals.
The programme aims to show the importance of eating a balanced diet and exercising regularly for people of all ages, shapes and sizes.

“Moreover we are finally going to answer the age-old question ‘Who ate all the pies?’
